Can you really estimate my glass job from photos?
Costs & Estimates · Answered by Lake Tahoe Glass, the CA shore’s glass shop.
The short answer
Usually, yes — two or three photos plus rough width and height gets most jobs a same-business-day ballpark. Final numbers come from our measure, but the photo ballpark is free and commits you to nothing.

Most glass work is highly photo-estimable: a broken pane, a fogged unit, a slider, a mirror wall. Send (1) one photo of the whole window or opening, (2) one close-up of the damage or detail, and (3) rough width and height — a tape measure across the glass is plenty. Photos through our form by early afternoon usually get a ballpark the same business day.
This matters double in Tahoe because so many of our customers aren't at the property. Second-home owners and property managers send photos from Sacramento or the Bay, we ballpark it, coordinate access with the local contact or lockbox, and email completion photos and the invoice. Nobody drives four hours for a window.
One note: our phone number, (530) 544-5884, is the shop landline — it can't receive texts. Photos go through the estimate form on this site, which also lets you attach them properly.
Every house and pane has its wrinkles — a two-minute call gets you a straight answer for yours, and estimates are always free: (530) 544-5884. Or send photos with the form for a same-business-day ballpark.
