Privacy Policy

How Lake Tahoe Glass collects, uses, shares and protects personal information — including California privacy rights (CCPA-style access, deletion and correction requests).

Overview

Effective date: July 2, 2026. Lake Tahoe Glass (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a family-owned glass shop at 2621 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. This policy explains what personal information we collect through laketahoeglassca.com and in providing our services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have — including rights available to California residents. Using this site or requesting service means this policy applies to you.

Personal information we collect

  • Identifiers & contact details — name, phone number, email address, and the service address or town you give us when requesting an estimate.
  • Service & commercial information — what you tell us about your project (glass type, sizes, urgency, message contents), estimates and quotes we prepare, and job and invoice records.
  • Photos you submit — images you attach to estimate requests (up to 3 per request). Used only to evaluate and quote the work; kept with the job record; never published without asking you first.
  • Internet & device activity — pages viewed, approximate location from IP, browser and device type, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies & analytics).
  • Security signals — our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which analyzes limited device and interaction signals to tell humans from bots (it does not show you puzzles in most cases and does not track you across the web for advertising).
  • Technical logs — IP address, request time and similar server logs kept by our hosting and CDN providers for security and troubleshooting.

Sources of information

  • Directly from you (forms, phone calls, email, walk-ins at the shop).
  • Automatically from your device when you use the site (cookies, logs).
  • From service providers acting for us (analytics, security, email delivery).

How we use personal information

  • To respond to your request, prepare estimates, schedule and perform glass work, and keep job records.
  • To communicate with you about your project by phone or email.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website (analytics, spam and abuse prevention, debugging).
  • To comply with legal, tax, licensing and insurance obligations.
  • We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making with legal effects, and we do not sell it.

Cookies, analytics & tracking

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, general location, device type). Analytics cookies load only as configured through our cookie banner, where you can Accept All or Decline non-essential cookies; you can also block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.

Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control: some browsers send “Do Not Track” or GPC signals. Our site’s data collection is limited to the analytics and security purposes described here; where a recognized opt-out preference signal applies to non-essential cookies, declining in our banner accomplishes the same result, and you may use both.

How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our instructions, and only as needed to run the business:

  • Google (Tag Manager / Analytics) — site usage analytics.
  • Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and Turnstile bot protection.
  • Email delivery provider (Zoho) — sends our estimate confirmations and lead notifications.
  • Website management (YelloPost) — operates this website on our behalf and receives copies of lead notifications so requests are never missed.
  • Hosting providers — store the website and its logs.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

Your California privacy rights

California residents may exercise the following rights, free of charge and without discrimination:

  • Right to know / access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, and how we use and share them.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., records we must keep for tax, warranty or legal purposes).
  • Right to correct — ask us to fix inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale/sharing — we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of; if that ever changed, we would post a clear opt-out first.
  • Non-discrimination — we will never deny service, change pricing or lower quality because you exercised a privacy right.

To exercise any right, email [email protected] or call (530) 544-5884 (Mon–Fri 9–5). We will verify your request using information we already have (typically name and the contact details on your service request) and respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days with notice). You may use an authorized agent; we will still verify the request with you directly.

Phone calls & no texting

Our number, (530) 544-5884, is a business landline: it accepts voice calls only and cannot send or receive text messages. We will never text you, and nothing on this site signs you up for SMS. Photos and written details come to us through the website form or email.

Data retention

We keep estimate and job records for as long as needed for the purpose we collected them, and then as required for business, tax, warranty and legal-compliance purposes (generally up to 7 years for job and invoice records). Website analytics are retained per Google Analytics’ standard retention settings. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a small business: TLS encryption on the website, bot protection on forms, access limited to the people who need it, and reputable providers for hosting and email. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; if a breach affecting your unencrypted personal information ever required notice under California law, we would notify you as required.

Children

This site is for adults arranging glass services and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party sites

Links to our profiles on Google, Yelp, Facebook and Instagram leave this website; those platforms have their own privacy practices and policies. This policy covers only laketahoeglassca.com and our own service operations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, always lives at this page; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date. Last updated: July 2, 2026.
